Bringing records into Spotlight

Records are a special building block that only work with Spotlight (they're picky). the idea behind records is that often Spotlight works well as a universal searchbar -- a searchbar that can search through anything a user might want to find in your product. "Anything" could mean something related to using the product (like a page, a nudge, a video, etc) OR it could mean some piece of data in their account. Records are the Command AI building block to support the latter -- data search.

Getting records into Spotlight​

There are two ways to get records into Spotlight:

  1. Connect your backend search provider (like Algolia) to Command AI via an integration
  2. Connect records manually using the Command AI SDK.
